beautiful and less so. In the end, during a move, she was all but forgotten, until my husband,
Mark, rediscovered her while visiting his mother. The rest is history. Now she’s
an elderly woman with a precious—but at all flashy—dress, elegant in every detail.”

My father bought the chair
in the early 70s for the little studio
where my sister and I would study.
But often, we’d just have fun
listening to music —
playing records for hours!
It would be impossible to let
my father’s chair fall to pieces,
impossible to not want to give
new life to that little chair
that watched over our times,
our songs and our memories…”

Le Sedute Esaurite/"Sorelle" di Daniela

It was love at first sight,
despite their run-down appearance,
when we first met in an antique market.
There they were—a two-some,
for me, two friends, two sisters…
yes, that sister I always wanted and
imagined as a child, asking myself
if we would have looked alike,
or gotten along well with each other.
That’s why I wanted to make them similar,
but not identical, for their rebirth.

If my chairs had a names,
they’d be Daniela and Elisa.
Their zodiac sign would be Cancer.
Their personality?
Sensitive and determined.
Their favorite song would be
”Winds of Change” by the Scorpions.

This chaise longue belonged to
my husband’s grandmother,
with whom I got along with very well,
and it was love at first sight.
Marvelous for relaxing, thinking
and recharging my battery.

It’s one of two. The pair was at my parents’ house.
I took one when I was breastfeeding my daughters.
Then, as it was too dated, it ended up in the country.
Now Marghe’s asked her grandmother for it,
but to be really awesome in her teen space
it needed a little more character!

Its personality? Nomad.

I’ll tell you…after having seen it
in a shop window and falling in love with it,
it was given to me by my work partner
as a sign of re-birth for my 50th birthday.

My “renewal” started on September 19, 2019
with your chair - a date and an object
that mark a new desire on my part to enjoy
every moment, seize opportunities
and develop projects with new awareness.

My grandmother gave me the little chair
when I went off to live alone.
After she was gone, I always kept it
in my bedroom, to feel her near me.
As I do, even today, in the house
I share with my family.
